Amy Rebecca is one of those people who refuses to be put in a box. For Summer 2024, we met her in Miami for a Fashion Meets Fitness on-location shoot, a high-energy blend of editorial fashion and fitness lifestyle photography designed to document her journey to the WBFF stage and portray her at her fiercest. The vibe was sexy and edgy, bright Miami sun by day and cinematic strobes by dusk. Amy brought her attitude; we got the lighting, lenses, and direction. The result? Content built for a model portfolio photoshoot, social feeds, and stage promo.

Concept: Fashion x Fitness; What we were making and why it matters

This was a shoot with a dual purpose: to document Amy’s prep for WBFF while producing polished, fashion-forward images that advance her brand. We combined editorial fashion photography with fitness photography, think dress meet bodybuilding stage presence, swimsuits paired with gritty urban textures, and posed strength shots that read like magazine editorials.

For models, influencers, and pageant competitors, this kind of hybrid content does more than fill a grid. It tells a story: discipline, style, and personality. If you’re searching for a professional photographer for models and influencers or a Miami fashion photographer who understands brand narrative, this is the exact type of work that converts followers into opportunities.

Location: Miami, heat, palms, and skyline drama

We scouted a few Miami spots that read as both glamorous and raw, palm-lined streets, sun-bleached boardwalks, and an architectural backdrop with skyline pops. Shooting outdoor fashion photography in South Florida always means planning for the elements: fierce midday sun, humidity that sticks to clothes and skin, and gusts of ocean wind that can either ruin a look or become a cinematic tool.

We used shade, backlight, and controlled strobes to keep skin tones punchy and contrast in the editorial. For swimsuit and resort-style frames, the Miami light is unmatched; for the gritty fashion frames, we leaned into textured walls and low-angle vistas.

Gear & lighting: Sony A1, fast glass, and bold strobe work

Primary camera: Sony A1 with our go-to 24-70 GM for walk-and-shoot flexibility and the 70-200 GM for tight, compressed portraits. Lens choices let us pivot fast between full-body fashion frames and intense telephoto fitness close-ups that sell muscle tone and detail.

Lighting style: bold, punchy, editorial, cinematic. We balanced available light with Profoto and Godox strobes, using high-speed sync for rim lighting and off-camera flash for punch. When the sun dipped, we went full strobe: hard-edge lighting for drama, soft fill for skin, and a rim to separate Amy from Miami’s busy backgrounds.

Posing & direction: how we warmed up and found the look

Amy knows how to move; she’s done shoots and stages. But even pros need direction. We started with a warm-up routine, quick walk-throughs, slow torso pivots, and micro-gestures to free the shoulders. Then we layered in editorial direction: weight on the back leg, shoulder tilt, jawline toward the light, and intentional hand placements to sell both the outfit and the physique.

For fitness portraits, we asked for controlled tension: flex, hold, breathe out slowly. For fashion frames, we relaxed the face but exaggerated the silhouette. Our on-set language is fast and visual: “long neck,” “soft hands,” “breathe into your ribs,” which keeps the subject present and expressive.

BTS: mood, laughs, and real talk

Shooting with Amy is always a blast. She’s a friend who shows up ready to experiment, wapping heels for trainers between takes, changing hair looks on a sidewalk, and laughing through the heat. We kept the mood electric with quick music swaps, on-the-go hair fixes, and instant playback to build confidence. That real-time feedback loop is how strong images get made: immediate adjustments, minor corrections, and considerable energy.

For creatives coming from Boca Raton to Miami or Fort Lauderdale, this is the kind of collaborative set we deliver: professional, playful, and efficient.

If you’re planning a Boca Raton photoshoot or a South Beach photoshoot, we’ll scout locations and looks that work with the light and the brief.

No significant challenges — just smart problem solving

Miami’s humidity can fog lenses and flatten hair. Our solution: shade breaks between sets, microfiber towels, and fast off-camera light to restore contrast. Midday sun? We used scrims and fill flash to avoid harsh shadows and maintain an editorial look—no drama, just prepped solutions that kept the shoot moving.

Key moments & final frames

  1. The dress-to-bikini transition: a cinematic sequence that contrasted toughness and vulnerability.

  2. Stage-ready muscle portrait: tight 70-200 tele captures that highlight definition without looking clinical.

  3. Palm-lined sunset silhouette: rim-lit, punchy, and made for Instagram and pageant promo material.

These files will live across Amy’s portfolio, social, and stage promo, content that helps her build momentum for the WBFF.
