This was a Fashion Meets Fitness studio shoot in Miami (Summer 2024) to document her final prep before the WBFF stage. Location & Logistics: Studio Miami, Why We Chose It

We shot in a Miami studio to control lighting and create a more cinematic feel. Shooting in the city lets us move from glossy editorial frames to grittier portrait lighting without dealing with midday sun or humidity. Still, South Florida’s vibe is always present, the heat and moisture shaped prep (short warm-ups between sets), and the Australian-to-Miami energy Asha brought translated into bold expressions.

Gear & Lighting: How We Made Her Pop

We shot primarily on the Sony A1 with the 24-70 and 70-200 GM lenses, a combination that provides editorial flexibility and smooth compression for portraits. Lighting was bold and punchy: rigid rim lights to sculpt muscle, large softbox beauty lights for those headshots, and modifiers to keep highlights snappy without flattening texture.

Posing & Direction: How We Coached a World Champion

Asha knows how to pose for the stage and frame; our job was to translate that into magazine-ready compositions. Direction was precise, energetic, and collaborative.

1. Warm-up: micro-movements to loosen joints and dial expressions, breathing, jaw releases, and slow hip rotations.

2. Posing cues: hold tension through the core, push one shoulder forward for shape, micro-turn the hips to flirt with light, and a signature “stage smile” that reads on camera.
